It’s been 48 days since I started Ketogenic Diet to reverse my Diabetes Type II condition. To keep my glucose level low, I’ve also tried to consume as few Calories as possible. However, leaving the company I’ve worked for the last 12 years, I was heavy hearted, which led to a huge food craving. I’ve tried to follow the usual meal plan, but ended up consuming lots of almonds after lunch. I knew it would raise my glucose level, but I was not able to stop eating it.

After dinner time, I’ve used my Contour Next One monitor to measure my glucose level. The measurement I saw was 218 mg/dL. I haven’t seen measurements going over 200 mg/dL for a while but that didn’t surprise me since I ate more than I should have. I actually expected more at best.

With some frustration at not being able to eat lots of food to soothe myself from an aching heart, I’ve headed out to 24 Hour Fitness to burn 400 calories by running four miles, hoping to burn enough calories to bring my glucose level down. After the running, I was able to bring it down to 160 mg/dL. I might have to skip breakfast tomorrow to lower it down even more.

There would be more food cravings, but I will have to persevere and stay focused. I’ve come so far with many efforts to reverse my Diabetes Type II condition. I do not wish to go back to the days when I would take a bunch of medications to keep my glucose level low.
